How to Create a Customer Satisfaction Survey Kiosk

Customer Satisfaction Survey Kiosk

A customer satisfaction survey kiosk is an excellent way to stay in touch with your customers and maximize sales.

Through the use of a customer satisfaction survey kiosk, you’ll continuously gain valuable insights about what your customers expect from your products and services and learn about hidden shortcomings that could be stunting sales.

In this article we’re going to discuss how the world’s most popular free online survey tool SurveyMonkey can be used with KioskSimple to create a simple customer satisfaction survey kiosk.

Customer Satisfaction Survey Kiosk with SurveyMonkey

SurveyMonkey provides an easy way to create online customer satisfaction surveys and even offers a template to get you started quickly (see image below).

We can then take that online survey and run it from a public facing kiosk to survey customer satisfaction.

Here is an example customer satisfaction survey provided by SurveyMonkey.

Creating a Customer Satisfaction Survey Kiosk

Creating a survey in SurveyMonkey is beyond the scope of this article, but SurveyMonkey offers a template to make it really easy. You can customize the template to fit your customers.

The following example will use the customer satisfaction survey template provided by SurveyMonkey.

Next, we need to get the customer satisfaction survey on your kiosk so we can make it accessible to the public.

This can be easily accomplished by using KioskSimple to securely run your SurveyMonkey online survey from a kiosk.

KioskSimple runs in Microsoft Windows, so you’ll need to use a PC or tablet running Windows.  If you need help selecting a device please don’t hesitate to contact us.

In the next section we’ll cover how to configure KioskSimple.

Configuring KioskSimple

In this section we’re going to cover configuring KioskSimple to load your SurveyMonkey customer satisfaction survey.

First, you’ll want to download the free trial of KioskSimple.

After you run the installer, select the desktop icon for configuring KioskSimple and you’ll be greeted with a quick start wizard.  It’s REALLY quick, I promise.

Enter the URL for your SurveyMonkey customer satisfaction survey

Simply enter the URL of your online SurveyMonkey customer satisfaction survey (for example “https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/customer-satisfaction-survey-template“) and click continue.

That’s it for the configuration!

Close the KioskSimple configuration tool and use the Start KioskSimple icon on your desktop.

While KioskSimple is unregistered, you’ll need to select the option to Try the Demo.

Finally, select the option to run KioskSimple in Test Mode so you can quickly test your website.

Your customer satisfaction survey will load within in a few seconds.  After you’re done testing press ESC and you’ll be prompted to enter a password.  While KioskSimple is unregistered, any password will work.

While in Test Mode you can also simply reboot the device and Windows will load normally.

When you’re ready to deploy your customer satisfaction survey kiosk for use by the public, you’ll want to select the option to Lockdown Kiosk and configure some basic security options which we’ll cover in the next section.

Customer Satisfaction Survey Kiosk Deployment

In this final section, we’ll cover securely deploying your customer satisfaction survey kiosk for use by the public.

Remote management is a great way to remotely administer and monitor your kiosks.  We’ve had a great experience with LogMeIn Pro and TeamViewer and recommend either product to our customers.

Lastly, you’ll want to configure KioskSimple to run in a secure manner.  In most cases, this simply involves changing the default password of “kiosksimple” to something more secure and restricting the webpages users can visit.

To change the password for exiting KioskSimple visit the section in the configuration tool SECURITY->SECURITY SETTINGS and set the new password under the section Exit KioskSimple shown below.

Finally, save your settings and close the configuration tool and you’re ready to run KioskSimple in Lockdown Kiosk mode for deployment to the public.
