If you’re in need of an easy way to create a DIY kiosk on the cheap, then a kiosk app combined with your existing website is a great option.

A kiosk app is designed to ensure that your tablet kiosk is always running smoothly.

The kiosk app contains a web browser which can be configured to securely run your website.

Tablet kiosks are well suited for a wide range of applications including…

  • Donations
  • Surveys
  • Giving directions
  • Browsing inventory
  • Much more

If you want to make your website available to customers in-store, then a tablet kiosk is an economical way to achieve that goal.  Keep reading to learn how.

Why Use a Kiosk App?

The primary reason for utilizing a kiosk app over running Chrome in “kiosk mode” is the added security.

In addition to security improvements, our kiosk app also provides ease of use features to get even you non-technical folks up and running quickly.

The major benefits of using our kiosk app include…

Ease of Use: convert your website into a self-service kiosk in minutes

Onscreen Keyboard: Attractive onscreen keyboard that can be “skinned” to match your colors and theme

Control the User Experience: Restrict the web browser to only the websites you want to load and prevent malicious users from tampering with the operating system.

Support for Common Payment Devices: Easily add support for popular payment devices like bill acceptors, credit card readers and more using our developer friendly JavaScript API.

Display Ads While Kiosk Is Idle: While the kiosk is idle you can display ads or a screen saver.

Automatic Startup: Automatically launch your website when Windows for loads and log into a limited access user account for added security.

Block Windows Dialogs: Block unwanted dialog boxes to avoid distracting users or compromising security.  For example, if the user clicks on an email address, KioskSimple will block the default email application from launching.

Health Monitoring: Ensure that your kiosk is always running smoothly.

Diagnostic Logging: Logging is useful for troubleshoot and development

Automatic Reboot/Restart: Automatically restart Windows to help keep things fresh.

Choosing Your Tablet Kiosk

There is a myriad of options when it comes to selecting a tablet.  If you’re on a very tight budget, then you can find 8″ tablets running Windows 10 by Chuwi for as cheaply as $100.
