How to Put Your Leafly Menu On a Tablet Kiosk

In this article I’m going to show you how to easily create a Leafly menu kiosk using KioskSimple and an affordable Windows tablet kiosk like the Surface Pro.

A Leafly menu kiosk is a quick and easy way to educate your customers on the products you carry while they wait in line at your dispensary.

This article is in no way intended to imply an endorsement or affiliation with Leafly.

Here are the simple steps involved in setting up your Leafly menu kiosk.

Step 1: Locate your menu on Leafly

If you advertise your dispensary on Leafly then you’ve probably already created an online menu.

Assuming that you’re already signed up with Leafly, the first step is to locate your online menu.

You can do this by visiting Leafly.com and searching for your dispensary.

Once you’ve located your dispensary’s Leafly menu then make a note of the menu URL which will look something like this…

Step 2: Install KioskSimple

Once you’ve located your Leafly menu it’s time to install the free demo of KioskSimple.

In most cases you’ll want to install the 64-bit version.

Don’t worry about installing the wrong version.  The installer will automatically detect your operating system and prevent you from installing the wrong version.

Step 3: Configure KioskSimple to use your Leafly Menu

Next we need to configure KioskSimple to run your Leafly menu on your Leafly menu kiosk.

Click the Configure KioskSimple icon on your desktop and you’ll be prompted to enter your website.

Paste in the URL of your Leafly menu you collected in the previous step and press CONTINUE (see below).

That’s it!  Now close the KioskSimple Configuration App and its time to test your Leafly menu kiosk.

Step 4: Deploy your Leafly menu kiosk

From your desktop click the Start KioskSimple icon and select the option to Try the Demo.

Next you’ll be prompted to either run KioskSimple in Test Mode or Lockdown Mode.  For the purpose of testing select Test Mode.

Once KioskSimple is running you’ll see your Leafly menu will load and you can perform any tests.

When you’re ready to exit KioskSimple the default password is “kiosksimple.”

You can get to the password prompt by either pressing ESC on a physical keyboard (attached via USB) or by bringing up the touchscreen keyboard by pressing the keyboard icon in the lower right-hand corner.

To access the ESC key on the touchscreen keyboard first click the &123 key in the lower left-hand corner of the keyboard and then a new view will load with the ESC key on the right.

After entering the default password of “kiosksimple” select the option to Close KioskSimple and you’ll be returned to the Windows desktop.

When you’re ready to deploy KioskSimple for use by the general public you’ll want to purchase a license of KioskSimple and launch KioskSimple in Lockdown Mode.
